WANTED: Engineer I - Mining in Estevan at Westmoreland Mining

Job Description

• Support mining and production operations, including dragline and dozer reconciliations, and support for reclamation activities;

• Perform regular site audits such as haul road audits, highwall inspections, general safety

audits, coal recovery audits;

• Perform surveys required for continued environmental compliance using regular drone flights analysis;

• Monthly surveying required for tracking inventories and production using drone surveys of all stockpiles and further analysis of the models (volumes, tonnages, etc.);

• General survey/staking duties required for delineation of haul roads, pits, drill holes, etc.;

• Assuming other responsibilities as required in response to changing circumstances and the

economic and physical environment of the Mine or Company.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field

2 or more years’ experience

Proficient in AutoCAD, Autodesk Map, SurvCAD, Excel and Access or similar software

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs

Ability to work independently, adjust to changing priorities and to handle different and multiple tasks

Good verbal and written communication skills

Good presentation skills
